Recently, the Pengshen-6 well of PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gasfield Company, located in the Penglai gas area, Yanting County, Mianyang, was successfully drilled and cemented, reaching a depth of 9,026 meters and thereby setting a new record for the deepest vertical oil well in Asia. As a listed enterprise specializing in petroleum equipment R&D, manufacturing, sales and engineering technical services, Shenkai, with its well control equipment and mud logging instruments, has assisted in the successful drilling of the "Asia's deepest vertical well".

The well is a key pre-exploration well intended to explore the Dengying Formation in the Penglai gas area. Its geological conditions are complicated, and the drilling faced challenges such as extreme depths (greater than 9,000 meters), temperatures (over 200°C), pressure levels (higher than 150 MPa) and sulfur content (more than 30 g/m3). The original design depth of the well was 7,990 meters. In order to further explore the oil and gas properties in the deep stratum, the drilling depth was eventually increased to 9,026 meters.

During the process, faced with complex working conditions, the FKQ1280-8 blowout preventer remote control system provided by Shenkai ensured the efficient and safe completion of the well drilling. This set of well control equipment is tailored to key wells and ultra-deep wells of Chuanqing Drilling. Equipped with key functions such as special integrated driller and one-key shut-in, it can quickly complete well control operations and effectively control security risks thereof. Based on the manufacture of high-end blowout preventers and control systems, Shenkai has maintained a good partnership with Chuanqing Drilling for many years. It has assisted in the completion of drilling in this area with various of its petroleum equipment and has provided batches of high-end products such as F35-105MPa drilling blowout preventer and control system, 105MPa choke and kill manifold for Chuanqing Drilling.

At the same time, as the "eyes" of oil and gas discovery and the "brain" of service decision-making, the SK-CMS comprehensive mud logging instrument of Shenkai also played a pivotal role in this drilling process. The logging instrument adopts the high-performance and high-precision SK-3Q06 flash chromatograph independently developed by Shenkai, combined with geochemical, fluorescence, and nuclear magnetic resonance data, to build a well site information center, having made significant contributions in comprehensive data collection, early warning of engineering accidents, remote information transmission, etc. It obtains oil and gas indications more accurately while ensuring drilling safety.

The successful drilling of the Pengshen-6 well provides a strong technical guarantee for domestic ultra-deep oil and gas exploration, indicating that oil and gas exploration equipment and technology at home have reached the world's advanced level.
