Recently, Shenkai and its investment company Hanhydrogen made a brilliant appearance at the 25th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (cippe2025), bringing cutting-edge green hydrogen energy solutions to the industry. At the exhibition, Hanhydrogen exhibited hydrogen-powered UAVs, hydrogen refueling equipment, and core pipe and valve components in the hydrogen energy vehicle-mounted field. Among them, hydrogen-powered UAVs attracted the attention of many industry insiders with their core advantages such as long endurance, zero carbon & environmental protection, intelligent inspection, etc., providing highly innovative solutions for traditional fields including oil pipeline inspection, oilfield security, etc.
In the inspection of the petroleum industry, it is difficult to achieve efficient inspection of a large scale and high intensity on traditional electric UAVs due to limited battery endurance. However, Hanhydrogen’s hydrogen-powered UAVs have achieved multiple major technological breakthroughs by relying on advanced hydrogen fuel cell technology:
· Ultra long endurance and efficient operation: The endurance time can reach 2.5 hours, and the maximum operating radius can be extended to 30km, compared to traditional electric UAVs, the efficiency is increased by up to 5 times. A single flight can cover a wider area, significantly reducing the inspection frequency and greatly improving the operation efficiency;
· Adapting to extreme conditions and complex working conditions: Its endurance remains stable in extreme environment of -40~50 ℃, and is unaffected by temperature. It can adapt to complex working conditions including deserts, polar regions, offshore oil fields, etc.;
· Intelligent security and precise warning: It is equipped with an AI artificial intelligence monitoring security system to monitor the inspection area in a real-time manner, and accurately identify various risks such as pipeline leaks, equipment failure, illegal intrusion, etc., providing strong guarantee for safe production;
· Fast hydrogen exchange, economical and efficient: With fast hydrogen exchange function, it supports all-weather continuous operation, effectively reduces the operation and maintenance costs by up to 40%, and improves the overall economic benefits while ensuring the operation continuity.
· Zero carbon emissions, green development: It can achieve true zero carbon emissions, and is highly compatible with the global carbon neutrality strategy, injecting new impetus into the green and sustainable development of the petroleum industry.
Based on the outstanding advantages above, Hanhydrogen’s hydrogen-powered UAVs can be used in three core scenarios of the petroleum industry:
· Intelligent inspection of oil pipelines: With a high-precision infrared thermal imaging camera and a gas detection sensor, it can quickly identify pipeline leaks, human damage, and geological disaster risks. It can complete the tasks that require multiple segmented inspections through traditional methods in a single flight, greatly improving the inspection efficiency;
· Oilfield 3D security monitoring: It can be equipped with an independent 1.4G integrated image-data communication link to achieve 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring of oilfield perimeter intrusion, equipment abnormality, and personnel violation, and build an integrated air-ground security system, comprehensively safeguarding oilfield safety;
· Emergency response and disaster assessment: In the event of sudden accidents such as oil and gas leaks or fires, it can quickly reach the danger zone for real-time monitoring, providing the most timely and accurate first-hand information for command and decision-making, and helping to efficiently respond to on-site crises.
As one of the earliest high-tech enterprises in China to enter the field of hydrogen-powered UAVs, Hanhydrogen has successfully launched UAV hydrogen supply systems and portable UAV hydrogen refueling systems based on its independent R&D capabilities. It has achieved domestic substitution and technological advancement of key components of hydrogen storage and supply systems, providing a one-stop solution for hydrogen use and refueling of UAVs.
